Anodised Aluminium nuts safe?

Hello,

So I've been reading that mixing Aluminium with other metals in a loop is a recipe for disaster... I was banking on getting the primochill revolver fittings, have have just found out their nuts are made of anodised aluminium... Could this be an issue?

Also, my current setup is as follows:

EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream XE 360 (Triple)
EK Water Blocks EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM (incl. pump)
EK Water Blocks EK-FB ASUS X99 Monoblock - Nickel
Mayhems Pastel - Red Coolant 1L
Three Fan Bundle - EK Water Blocks EK-Furious Vardar FF5-120 (3000rpm)
Primochill PETG tubing 13/10mm
Primochill revolver sliver fittings 13/10mm

I'd really appreciate if someone more knowledgable than myself could comment on the compatibility of these items, especially in terms of mixing metals :)

Would also be interested to hear any comments on the XRES-140 D5 pump combo vs the XSPC D5 Photon.

Thanks!

Aluminum nuts, sounds painful :) but the water would touch your nuts, used them myself a while back no problems. You could always go with EK fittings to match your other choices.

Do you really need 3000 RPM fans you won't be able to hear anything.

Well from what I have read the FF5's are actually relatively quite, even though they spin fast. Yeah I was considering EK fittings but they don't fit the 13/10 primochill PETG tubes :( Knowing you used them is reassuring though. Do you mean the water would not touch the nuts?

Do you know how the EK PETG tubing would compare to the primochill?

No fans are quiet at 3000rpm :) I have Vardars stuck back in the drawer that were to noisy at 1150rpm.

I'd imagine all PetG tubes are pretty much the same, companies will just buy it in badged to them, you can always use acrylic.

Anodising the aluminium will create a layer between the bare metal and the water.

If I recall correctly, the motherboard waterblocks you get on some of the asus maximus boards are anodised aluminium, but can be used with other metals.

I still wouldn't trust it though!

Don't use Primochill tubing with Mayhems coolants as it degrades the tubing.

Use Mayhems tubing.

I think he's talking PETG hardline rather than soft tubing. From what I can gather, the issue is an incompatiblity with tubing containing PVC and coolant containing ethylene glycol. Mayhems' XT1 contains this but X1 does not.
That said, PETG absorbs coolant and goes dull where acrylic does not. PETG is easier to bend though (less heat required) and a bit tougher.
