Hi

Call me a grumpy git if you want, but I strongly believe anonymous caller calls should be as standard on all phone networks mobile and landline.

I know people have a job to do, but the last thing that anyone wants is to be contacted on services and goods that they don't want. The companies prey on the vulnerable to make money and it makes me so mad.

For example, I have a line land now for 6 months which I only use for the internet. In fact I don't even know my own number, yet a company keeps calling me to try and sell me stuff that I don't want around 5:30pm. This is the time I get home, made my tea and just settle down to eat. How on earth do they expect me to take up their service or buy anything from them.

That is all...

why shouldn't I have a phone? even thou its a wireless dect phone. I know where it is and that's not the case for my mobile. I can't see way I have to pay an extra 4 pounds per month, which is an extra 1/3 of my total line land for me to stop being harassed.

I shall look into my phone settings to see if it can block anonymous calls... thanks.

If its not PPI it be the next money making scam. Yes there are companies that need to use anonymous numbers but with my company all calls get put though a generic fixed local number so that people know who's calling them.

To me, answering an anonymous call is like talking to someone that's hiding their face, there's no need for it and it's rude. Even people that carry out street survey or door to door sales are easy to spot and run away from, and when a phone rings; normally at the most inconvenient time by the time its woke you up or made you drop what you are doing and walk to the phone and I've discovered I didn't have too, its **** me off before I've even answered it!
