Hi again all,

You may remember not so long ago my friend was having a squeaking problem with his 106, now that is fixed there is another problem. 2 Weeks ago he had the battery changed because the other one was totally dead. Now when he starts the car the battery light is on but flickering and the headlights are quite dim and the car feels like it is going to stall. This all stops when he puts his foot on the accelerator or starts to move. It does the same at junctions?

Anyone got any ideas my guess is the alternator.....

Thanks

Make sure the wires are screwed onto the terminals correctly. Sounds like there is a bad earth there somewhere though or a faulty battery.

The guy that fitted the new battery did a test though and all seemed fine?
Any idea where about the dead earth could be if that is the problem? Around the battery? Could have been disturbed by changing the battery?

Looking on the internet a faulty throttle body can cause bad idling, now I noticed when I changed the air filter the little rubber ring around the top of the throttle body was a bit rubbish could this be the cause, not sealing it properly? If so where can I get a new one?
