Hello I decided to purchase a new monitor (upgraded from my 15" medion). Opened the box set it up and guess what it worked!

For about 20mins.

Loaded up a few games to try it out. My pc did well considering (90-100fps in CS-S @ 4xAA 16XAF)

Ran perfectly and looked sweet

Then I tried a DVD. OMG!

What is wrong with it. It was like watching a REALLY poor pirate dvd. Everything is just totally wrong. You have a brown background. You will be able to see the brown surface made out of 30 different blocks of brown REALLY visible.

Not only that but the dvds are really scratchy. What I mean by that is that they speckle a lot. They are fuzzy and nothing is sharp on it.

Getting really panicky now I downloaded a HD Movie from microsoft. Results (under windows media). Basically the same as the dvd.
---------------------------------------------------------------

What shall I do? I got a 5yr warrenty with the monitor. The only thing I can think of is that I am atm using Powerdvd 5. This could have something to do with it.

Edit: Downloaded a demo of Powerdvd10 same thing again

What can I do. My monitor is revision A03.

Cheers

you sig is WAAAAYYYYY to big.. 5 lines max.

mine are fine.. i used media player classic for mine.. as you can zoom in and stuff.. you cant expect dvds to look the same at this res as they do on a 1280 screen. its going to have to stretch it.. which is where the quality is lost but seen as you tried the HD stuff i definately think something is wrong with your setup..

what codec's do you have installed? and do you have your graphics card accelertaion on max..

all i can think of at the moment..

Hope you get it sorted becuase these are excellent monitors.. i'll be sorry to see mine go.. then i'll be smiling again when i get the 30" version :D
