Another 3 monitor setup question

In general with AMD cards you need to run at least one of the monitors from a DisplayPort connection either directly or via an active adapter.

The adapter you've linked to isn't active.

It'll work if you're only connecting one or two monitors but it won't work with three.

This is active: HIS Active Mini DisplayPort to Single Link-DVI Eyefinity Adapter

It'll support up to 1920x1080/1200 resolution at 60Hz but not higher resolutions or 120Hz.

If you provide details of the monitors and graphics card then we can give more specific advice.

Thanks for your reply, cards are http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-063-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938
Monitor 1 is the Samsung S23A700D HDMi + DVi
Monitor 2 is the Samsung 2233BW DVi + VGA
Monitor 3 ? maybe something with a Displayport connection.
I know I could sell them and buy 3 identical monitors but I would like an option to just buy a cheap ish 3rd monitor just for racing sims.
I wanted to keep the sammy also because its a great single monitor for 120 Hz gaming BF3 etc I know the 2233BW is 1680 x 1050 also.

If you get a third monitor with a DisplayPort connection then you'll simply need a miniDP to DP cable for it.

If it doesn't have DP then you'll need an active adapter.

With Crossfire (you say cards) all the monitors have to be connected to the primary card.

Eyefinity (Single Large Surface mode) requires all the monitors to run at the same resolution so if the lowest resolution of the three monitors is 1680x1050 then the others would have to run at that resolution as well.

For an extended desktop they can be run at different resolutions.
