The graphics were far from awful :confused:

Not best on the console but a long long way from the worst. Some of the levels were visually amazing.

Stunning on the PC. I remeber going in the room with the spinning lit vortex, which lit up the room. Amazing.

Perhaps I worded it crap.

The graphics were good. But they could have been a hell of a lot better on the 360.

There's a few reviews when it came out saying that it's a visually impressive game, uses the Doom3 engine but...

While there are some rough edges, as a whole, Prey is a very good looking game, despite not running at 60 frames per second

and

3D Realms does manage to throw in a few tricks that really help push the game away from its comparable ID friends, but in the end there isn't much that makes Prey stand out graphically then other games.

It IS a nice looking game, but could have been so much better.

Well if we're talking visuals then I do recall the crappy afterlife bits where you're in some high up mountain with your grandfather (iirc) to be the worst looking bits. I remember seeing jaggies all over the place and mis-aligned textures. It looked like it was put together by an amateur in that regard.

Sounds like the orignal was a pretty shoddy port then

Hopefully they'll improve on that in the new game. Wouldn't be surprised if they move it to UE rather than stick with ID tbh.

Are you on about the guy who changes like the wind? He went from Xbox360, to PC and now he's a PS3 fanboy. He's been PS3 and PC for quite a while now.

Never played the first prey tbh (All those Q4 engine games made my PC at the time die). Didn't even know it was on 360 tbh.

I never had the time to play it on PC at the time I did pick it up brand new for £7 on the 360 recently and I personally quite enjoyed it!

I think the portals, ceiling walking and spirit mode should be incorporated into the darkness and then you have one neat game

Without turning this into a flamewar, to be honest you can't say that an Xbox fanboy would claim "exclusive" seeing as it's on the PC.

Having said that, anyone who DOES say it's awesome is sadly deluded.

I fail to see how someone that enjoyed the game is a 360 fanboy.
I personally disliked Prey when I played it on the PC so will be avoiding the sequel.
Also, I like how you generalise that Sony fanboys will say the game is average at best considering the majority of die hard Sony fanboys would say that it is the worst game ever just becuase it is 360 exclusive.
I'm pretty sick of everyone assuming that peoples opinions are based on what console they own but I do agree that some people's clearly are.

I do agree that the thread is predictably boring.

I quite enjoyed the first. It helped that it came in the drought (which was filled the following year by The Darkness) but was whilst being quite old skool, fun and looked great (the game looked far better than the xbl demo which had heavily compressed textures). Online was a lot of fun for a week or so; yes there was lag problems, and no, it was never going to be a COD4/R6V, but once you got on a good server it was quite fun. Catching someone with the tractor beam and dropping them to their death was quite memorable.

I'm not overly fussed by a sequel (though was there ever any doubt this was coming?) but I'll keep an eye out for reviews and if they time it right (Q1 2009) this could come at a good time.

Should go look at N4G its worse..

You can guarantee if this game was also on PS3 they would show love
