I am trying to stream music from my pc to my xbox i have downloaded media connect and this is all authorised on my pc .

However when I try and set my xbox up it looks for the pc and then says that it cannot find any pcs running windows media connect however this is set up correctly on my pc ?

sorry search function on the 360 i have tried that and its not picking anything up but my pc is fine.

Check if you have a firewall running, this is most likely stopping your xbox from seeing the pc.

I had this problem and disabling windows firewall sorted it.

i have turned my fire wall off and the xbox is still not find the pc however the pc sees the xbox fine???

is it accepted in the Media Connect settings? your not Deny'ing it are you?

are you doing this is the test media connect settings now?

The reason I ask is that my xobox never has passed this test. However I am able to stream to it without any issues at all. Try using the media tab on the dashboard and selecting a tune from there, worked for me

IIRC there are actually TWO versions of the media connect, one for Media Centre edition, and one for XP Pro.

Are you sure you're using the right one as I had this problem and using the 'correct' version fixed it perfectly...
