I was just wondering, is this a particularly decent score given my current specs?
I've just installed Windows XP again (having used Vista 32-bit for the previous week), yet this score is slightly lower than I anticipated. Do you think my expectations are misguided?
I have the latest chipset and GFX drivers installed, of course. However, I was wondering whether my circa 2004 Tagan 480W PSU is up to task of powering the system and whether it might have a detrimental effect on performance (it doesn't have a native PCIe power connector, for example (and XFX warns against that!!)). Also, perhaps a botched XP install in some way could be responsible... Am I being paranoid?
Also, CS:S tends to run pretty poorly when there's a lot of action on screen (1680x1050, 4xAA, 4xAF)... Not something I expected considering the age of the game.
I want to investigate this before I give any time to overclocking... Appreciate any help given.
