Hey guys another 3gb question , and another noob here...

I have a system that was built from components purchased from you OC and need to upgrade the memory in it. Im currently running at 1GB but need to go to at least 2 GB , but preferably 3GB if this config is possible. Ive read the Asus manual and am unsure whether i can have 2GB in one set of Dimm sockets and the existing 1GB on the other two.

My sytem report as it is now is as follows -

What i am after is advice on what memory I can buy from OC to upgrade that will match what I currently have.

So i need another 2x512Mb's at minimum to take me to 2gb.
or if poss
2x1024mb's to take me to 3gb ( again im not sure if this is possible )

The system is being used for photographic work , so cutting edge gaming speed is not applicable any more to me , I just need more memory that is compatible with my MB and my current memory.

So what memory should i bee looking at ? and how much of it ??

Thanks

Andy

Assuming I can add another 2gb to my current 1gb (?)

Would this work with the crucial I already have ?

OcUK Value 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit (MY-006-OK)

Well I wanted to go 3 gb for economy really, but im doing a lot of photoshop work , and with multiple layers a single files can creep up to over a 1gb quite easily on a heavy portrait retouch for example....

And if i need another file open at the same time , 2Gb really wont cut it.

Good idea...thanks for the suggestion.

Will i really see much difference between these two -

Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS3 (MY-039-CS) Price: £114.99 (£135.11 Including VAT at 17.5%)

and

Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2 (MY-079-CS) Price: £134.99 (£158.61 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Wasnt sure your price was refering to with vat or without vat...so both sort of match your suggestion !

No im not using 64bit atm , is that good or bad ;-) ?
