My spec is in sig, and was built by myself last November. I have been very pleased as the system has never missed a beat. I am now thinking of upgrading to Vista, but I will probably dual boot with XP to begin with.

I could also do with another hard drive and I thought that while memory is as cheap as it is, I might as well order another 2 GB of the Geil ULL 6400 memory. I know XP won`t see all of it.

Question is, will going to 4 GB have any negative effect on my systems stabilty? Reading around, there are obviously some issues with 4GB and some boards, especially when in a 4 x 1GB configuration. My memory is currently running on quite slack timings, (5-5-5-18) I think, as I left the memory side of things set to auto in the bios. Only settings changed were FSB, and PCI-E to 101. (I have a Xfi :p)

Anybody have my board with 4GB? Any possible problems to look out for?

I am hoping that due to my very "safe" attempts at overclocking, I can just put the memory in without the hitch.

:)

I'm running the same mobo, with a q6600 @3.55 Ghz and 2*1GB pc8500 1066mhz ram.

You shouldent have any problems with such a small overclock and PC6400 ram, after all the mobo was designed to use 4 sticks of ram.

Just my 2 cents, untill the memory gurus come back from holiday.

On the other hand I can not run my OCZ9200 FlexI at there stock 1150mhz with 4x1g but with 2x1g moduals can run@1200mhz, so I would be prepared to be dissapointed if you mobo takes a disliking to run4x1g moduals.
