BFG 8800GTS 640mb OC arrived today to upgrade my 7900GT.

3dmark06 run @ stock...I'm assuming this is a great score as it's about 3000 points more than my overclocked 7900GT

Idle temp is around 50-52 degrees...and it's a very quiet card! I'll try out some more games and post back later...but so far I'm very pleased.

What kinds of clocks are most people getting to on the stock cooling?

I just put a side fan on my antec 900 and now idle temps are around 46-48 now with the fan at 100%....and during a 3dmark06 run it doesn't go over 58c..... so i think it can probably clock decently

This is interesting....I assume this shows that WIC is quite CPU dependent?

The settings below are identical (1280x1024, preset "very high" settings)

I run mine at 680/2000, stock cooling fan running at 100%, not loud at all.

I can get through a bit of 3dmark06 at 700/2100 but it always crashes at some point.

Edit, mine is an A3 core.

Seems as if the max of mine is 648/1512/2052 (core/shader/mem)...temps are really amazing...I dunno if it's my case or what...but this thing runs about as cool as my 7900GT with the VF-900. Load temps never go above about 64-65c with rthdribl running. I assume temps are accurate as everest, rivatuner, and nvmonitor all report the same.

How do you know which core you have?

Never overclocked a graphics card before but when people are saying 680/2000 what is that in referance to as my 8800GTS atm is running at 660/950(core/memory), nowhere near 2000?

2000mhz effective...it's DDR memory (double data rate)...so you multiply by two.

Same as standard DDR and DDR2 ram...PC6400 = 400fsb = DDR 800

I have been using rivatuner to set the clocks, and I've found nvidia's geoforms demo to be the best for stability testing.
