Hello,
I am looking at building a new PC. I've been looking at various combinations over the past few days but i cannot seem to find a fit that i am happy with and i really could use some advice.

Budget: 550 (Maybe squeeze +10/15% for the right combination)
Used for: 1080p gaming such as BF4
Would like: Intel processor (though open to suggestions for AMD), It to be as small as possible with the potential for upgrading. Also i do not need an optical drive.

I have the following:

OS
Keyboard / Mouse
Monitor
SSD

Thank you in advance!

Dave.

Thanks for the info Dave.

These provide better future options i.e overclocking if you get yourself a decent cooler :)

Thank you both for the replies :-) I shall review once I get home. Any reason to haswell instead of devils canyon or vice versa?

Devils canyon is Haswell.

Its still the Haswell architecture, just with an improved thermal material between the core and IHS, the 4690K is like 100Mhz than the 4670K and the 4790K is 500Mhz faster than the 4770K (base clocks).

If an i5 4670K and 4690K were both at 4Ghz then they give the same performance.
