another, are my temps ok? thread

i5 2500k @ 4.3ghz
1600mhz xms 4gb
arctic cooler pro 7
temps on idle are
core #0: 42c
core #1: 44c
core #2: 47c
core #3: 39c

any help would be appreciated

This. On my setup (completely different CPU etc) my CPU idles at 45-50c but only loads at 60 odd due to the fan profile I've set in BIOS. I'd prefer silence while working/browsing with a higher temp and couldn't give a hoot about a bit of fan noise when gaming

Load it up with IBT or Prime95 and post your temps after 10 minutes or so

under maximum load they go between 72c-75c on cores 0 1 and 3 but core 2 goes to about 81-83 using intel burn test on maximum setting, i made a record of my last run the other day

A little on the high side but that's a bit of a budget cooler

yeh i know, shall be upgrading it as soon as i can, i only originally bought it to get me by for now

It's all right though, you'll rarely hit those temps in real world applications
