I assume the best ATI card is the X1950XT 256MB? and the best from Nvidia would be the MSI GeForce 7900GTO 512MB?

Which would be best of the 2 running at stock settings?
 
The best from ati is x1950xt-x 512, from nvidia is the gto as you said.

But out of thw two you have said i would have the ati as it has more shader power, better iq, can do aa+hdr and can do f@h
 
If your looking at getting either one please dont just go buy the amount of Mb its got.

Like the ATI card has 256 and the Nvidia one has 512 unless you've got a nice big plasma tv 512 mb is useless becuase not in a million years would you use all of that up.

Please correct me if im wrong. thank you

I am considering upgrading my monitor to a 20"

Maybe my question was misunderstood, are these the best cards from either side to offer the best bang for buck?
