Hey all,

going to build another rig, this ones £700 , used for gaming only, No OS needed, and no monitor

no parts can be used from old rig, just full fresh build tower only

little bit if wiggle room if its worth it by £20 or so

i have a build ready but would prefer some suggestions as you guys always have better ideas than me (and know far more than me :D)

cheers

Thanks for suggestion , should have mentioned he wont be overclocking and SSD is not needed on this one, would prefer a better gfx card than faster loading times,

can invest in SSD later on if needed.

Is that PSU modular? I can't see it on the specification, if so seems pretty decent.

Non modular but the modular equivalent in internal spec with 100w more is this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-001-EA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2463

I personally feel its worth £20 more but thats because i am terrible at tidying cables.

Would definitely splash on GPU and go for SSD another day. The 280x tri-x is on offer and would be my first choice if you can stretch to include it by choosing a non k chip and appropriately cheaper motherboard.

*Edit* the tri-x 280x is called the toxic

Nope it's not modular, I can spec one if needed? Here's a revised spec with a better GPU.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 WindForce 3x OC Rev2 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **Black PCB** £191.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £169.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £89.99
1 x BitFenix Ronin Tower Case - Black £69.95
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x Avexir MPower Yellow Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CM) £49.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
1 x Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo CPU Cooler £19.99
1 x Samsung SH-118AB/BEBE SATA 18x DVD-ROM (Black) - OEM £12.95
Total : £718.43 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I'd still keep the overclockable CPU for future use. It's really easy to overclock with Gigabyte EasyTune, just hit a button and done, even if it overdoes the Vcore.

That's the best CPU you can get for the budget anyhow, so I'd stick with it if I were you/your friend - entirely your guys's choice though!

Z87 board but no K processor? :(

I'd prefer the Non K . the OEM only has a 1 year warranty (even though i know CPU's are reliable i would prefer to get him the 3 years) and the non K auto clocks to 3.8 , can't see why he would ever want to go above this, he will never dual cards.

I've also just thought i have an optical drive he can have to so can scrap that from the price also.

Can't believe i didn't see that Gigabyte card earlier nice one! seems like very good price

@ Avenged going to see if i can find a build to squeeze that toxic card in cos it seems to good to miss up on :D

Keep the suggestions coming without that graphics card though as it seems a tad unrealistic a good build will fit it sub 700 quid

Should do yeah, not sure about the B85 board though - B85 is the chipset with like minimal features, I believe people reference it as the business chipset

TBH you hardly save anything on the b85 and you could go for a chipset with more features without bursting the budget.

Figured if no one is overclocking, motherboard features can be minimal.
