Been planning on upgrading my PC over the past few months, but every time I decide on a build, I keep changing my mind in the end. So far this is what I was planning on getting:

Asus P5Q-E Intel P45
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (planning to overclock to 4.0+Ghz)
Powercolour ATI Radeon HD4890 1GB
Corsair Dominator 4GB RAM
Seagate Barracude 1.5TB HD
ThermalTake Khandalf with LCS Black Case
700W OCZ GameXStream PSU

Total cost is around £850

Really wanted a second oppinion on the build and whether to ditch the dual core for a new i7 CPU/Mobo and DDR3 Ram.

Wow, didn't expect this many replies when I got back. Cheers for the feed back and build examples guys. Think I'm going to opt for an i7 build instead. Going to rethink my build out and I'll repost it on here when I've decided on my final specs. Thanks again :D

Ok, looked through the posts and have decided to feed a bit more cash into my budget. Here's how it looks:

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) / Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 / Corsair 6GB DDR3 NQ PC3-10666C9 1333MHz (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 Bundle £523.96
Antec 900-2 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black (No PSU) £103.49
OCZ StealthXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply £71.99
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD4890 1GB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI HDMI PCI-Express £195.49
Samsung S222L Lightscribe 22x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer DVD-RAM £21.56
ASUS Triton 81 Multi-socket Quiet CPU Cooler £49.21
Total: 965.70 + P&P

Decided to not get a new HD and will just keep the two I have. Will get an additional small SSD later down the line to install my OS on, but for now It will just throw my budget well over what I had planned. Thanks again for all the help.
