Another build...

That does make sense, and it also means you can get an AM3 motherboard and more future proof

This makes more sense...

I wouldn't necessary have to get a dedicated graphics card, but i would still see an improvement no matter what motherboard i used.

And Ryan, that brings back the debate about if the 240 is better than the 7850 or not. As far as i can tell, they're the same but the 7850 has a L3 Cache.

On the motherboard rear I/O Panel... still, that motherboard is £70, the cheaper motherboard is £30 and the graphics card is £20 (give or take a few quid). That's £50 for better performance than something that costs £20 more.

I don't know which processor is better, i know the 240 is cheaper and AM3 which is why I included it and not the 7850+

And the motherboard that you chose doesn't have on-board graphics so you wouldn't be able to use it. So it does make sense to get a better motherboard

The "cheap" motherboard is 40, and the graphics are 20. So its £10 more expensive but you get a much better motherboard with very similar performance.

I see what your saying, but if you not going to be doing gaming there is no need for dedicated graphics. So id spend extra on a better motherboard...

I think the motherboard is the most important, one of the most anyway, parts of the computer. But its up to you, either solution will work and will have enough performance for your needs

I'd have trouble believing that on board graphics could ever out perform any dedicated graphics, with it's own chip and it's own memory, no matter how it compares with today's cards.

I know, which is why i'm trying to argue that having that motherboard is pointless, since it's twice the price of the one i was trying to put in and it's more expensive even than the cheaper one with a dedicated graphics card.

How does this look... if i can convince him that he doesn't need the sound card straight away and if he spends a little bit more...

Thats good, you qualify for free delivery so you end up at ~£420.

By having the decent motherboard it makes upgrade much easier in the future and it also means the built in sound card is quite good anyway...

Do i? I thought you had to be signed up for 90 days... is there a free delivery option anyway, that just takes longer to get there? But yeah, i'll see if i can talk to him about it.

Yeah you do have to be signed up for 90 days, I didn't realise you have only been for a month :P I just assumed that's you had with 300 posts...
