Hello Folks,

looking for some guidance on my basket.

ive chosen a z77 board as i can then upgrade the cpu in the future and overclock it.

i dont need HDD's, optical or OS as i have them already.

ive added a game as i will need something to play and a keyboard. the mouse i am buying elsewhere due to having vouchers.

im really looking to make the build cheaper if at all possible.

You'll need the normal D3H board if you want to overclock, the S version is a basic version of that.

I have the ADATA RAM and personally couldn't reccomend it, had 1 faulty stick (luck of the draw) but XMP profiles did not work and required higher voltage to run at stock speed.

Thanks,

there is 2 of these
Gigabyte Z77M-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
in the B grade section, what is likely to be missing from them? i dont want to be without any key cables or anything meaning i cant build on delivery.

they are £75 each so the same price and not the S version.

also would this ram be any good?

You'll need to contact OcUK to find out what would be missing. This would be the one you need either way:

For the RAM, The CAS on that is high, this would be better although it does look ugly:

whats the 2 pci-e's for?

To supply power from the Psu to the Gpu, but the GB 7850 in your spec only requires 1 PCIE connector.

GIGABYTE recommend a PSU capable of 500W to run this card which will also require a 6pin PCIe power lead. AMD specify the TDP of the reference card to be 130W so I do not expect this card to be much higher than this despite the factory overclocked state. We will of course mesure power consumption later in the review.

A normal 7850 only requires a single PCI power connectors, its some of the 7870's like the XT which require 2.

cool, think ill go with the 500w just to make it a little more future proof. i have specced a B grade monitor to bring price down.

Overall though does it looks like a decent enough system?

im making the switch from console so this will be my first "real" gaming pc, used to be a pc guy back in the call of duty 1 days.

I would be a bit cautious about getting a B grade monitor, it could have been DSRed due to having 1 or 2 dead pixels, enough for it to be DSRed but not RMAed.

Don't get one with no ETA as you could be waiting along time for it.
