Morning Guys, First time post on Apple Board although I've been reading the threads/post for several months now.

I have a 3 year old custom built PC running XP and it's been superb but a couple of days back my widescreen monitor gave up the ghost after 3 years of faultless use. I popped into well known retail park store to have a look/play with a replacement which I would then buy from ocuk but just coudn't find anything suitable.

I was looking at the iMacs and couldn't resist the quality look/feel of the models on show. Superb image on screen and lack of any cables draping all over the desk/floor made my mind up for me finaly and after a big struggle trying to stop my C/C from jumping out of my pocket I gave in and came home with a new 21.5 iMac. :D

Set up last night and trying to get used to the difference just now but so far it's fantastic and I'm really pleased I made the change. I was amazed at how well everything was packed in the box, never seen so much wrapping round any machine I've ever bought before, took ages just to undo all the protective wrapping then a few mins to actually set up.

I'm reading the manual now but will have loads of questions to ask over the coming days, feel sure you guys will help me out though. I purchased Office 11 and the 3 year Apple care app at same time
I think I got a decent deal from them as the machine, Office 11 - 'Student edition' and 3 year Apple care plan came to just less than £1200.

Must put my PC with loads of software and peripheral hardware in M/M in a couple of days to pull a few bob back. :(

Welcome and you will enjoy the iMac. I made the switch 7 months ago now and have no regrets at all.

Must say Office 11 is very nice on the mac.

Yep, good choice and hope you enjoy it. I have had my MBP for almost 3 years now and it is awesome!

You will want to learn a lot of the keyboard shortcuts which are available on the apple website with a quick google. This will make life with a mac much nicer.

My favourite to switch between windows in the same software cmd+`

Enjoy!
