Hey!

So I have another mate wanting a PC. I've posted the other week, but he is ready on the button to buy tonight, so wanted a final check! This is a tiny ITX build, that needs to run @ 1080p for games and what not. He won't be gaming much, and is coming from a crappy laptop so even for the budget its going to be a nice step up. Budget is £400-450 but he doesn't need a screen or OS. If there was a keyboard and mouse thrown in that would be stellar.

He has decided that he wants the Rajintek Minas case, which can fit proper PSUs but has crap cooling and not much room for a GPU, 170mm max (although there is room for a longer card, just would then need a smaller PSU).

Anyway, here is the list, along with a list of upgrades that I could potentially do:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 750 SuperClock 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £97.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £93.95
1 x TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TPKD38G1600HC11DC01) £53.99
1 x Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £49.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020058-UK) £39.95
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £39.95
1 x Raijintek Metis*- Black Mini ITX Case £35.99
1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler £14.99
Total : £436.39 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Okay, so first the obvious glaring mistakes. The cheap corsair PSU, I kinda need it to be modular, as there really isn't much room in this case. This is the cheapest modular PSU that is a real brand. I know there isn't much love for these cheap PSUs but I have used 3 or so in cheap builds Ive done and they ave all working well.

HDD, would have loved an SSD but unless I can use his old laptop HDD its gonna stay. Expensive Mobo. I don't want to risk a H series not being able to overclock the CPU, and there are not any cheaper ITX ones! GPU. Is one of the only cards that fits!

Upgrades:

Add in a small SSD for +£35
Upgrade the GPU to an MSI 270X ITX for +£27
Upgrade the PSU to a Golden Green 550w for +£14
Add in a basic keyboard and mouse with the left overs (+£20)

So yeah, he will push the button tonight! But I am thinking upgrading the GPU to the 270x and thats it. Sticks me right at the £450 top end. I can save him £20 buy selling him my CPU (same one) and potentially £10 or so by selling him some of my ram.

Thanks!

Aah thats where that keyboard and mouse bundle was. Defiantly that then for £25.

+1 to the black heatsink, even if it isn't a windowed case.

Out of those upgrades, which one Stulid?
