Setup my old Hitachi 17" recently after about a year of it sitting in it's box. Turned on and find it's developed a bright green dead pixel.
Today I decided to see if it could be brought back to life with a cotton bud and after massaging it a little it became a smaller dead pixel (subpixel size) and was flashing on/off! So massaged it again and it became a full bright green pixel again. Last attempt at massaging and the dead pixel disappeared so it's working again!

I'm amazed as I didn't really expect it to come back to life and my girlfriend will be very happy when she finds out her PC doesn't have a dead pixel anymore.
