Ok not normally my thing but just in case I am wrong but my initial judgment was no way.

I have used EBay a long time but not a big buyer/seller and only ever had one bit of trouble by some tight-fisted buyer over £2extra postage and packaging too small a box and it was dealt with in my favour.

I have been stung many times by RM high prices (higher than the estimate at time it I listed it) when I get to the PO and just suck it up esp. for GPU/Mobos.

I bought some Corsair Dominator Ram DDR3 (rarish 32GB kit) on 15th and I know there is delays over Brexit as I have an item stuck in Poland for weeks so I MSG the guy to say I am ok with it not arriving by estimated time.

Now he is in the EU and this item was listed on EBay UK and it was an auction not buy now or make offer and I won it fair and square and paid him instantly via PayPal the amount+postage he had asked for.

Today he has posted the item but sent me this:

Hi,

I spent 45€ shippment costs, half a day custom forms and many troble with proforma invoices.
Could you please send 20€ for extra shipping fees to (EDITED OUT HIS EMAIL HERE)

Thanks

Otherwise:

I received 170€
- Ebay fees 18€
- PayPal fees 6€
- Shipping Fees 45€
- Time waste ...

=101€

Yes its on way but am I being unreasonable (I am not tight but not a fool either)?

Kind of though to myself "tough luck" but trying to be polite.

I only ever list an item if it free or £1 final fees, he could have waited as they give these deals all the time.

I feel Ebay and PP would not be happy with him asking for a "Gift" of extra cash.

I am in the EU technically still but assume he means not USA or Asia..

It was all in English apart from the comment he added at bottom.

Vince my postie comes about 14:00 most days (that sounds bad).

I still need your details to PP you some cash.

EDIT: it is lying on hall floor, just had quick look thanks.

We are still part of Europe not USA or Asia and IMO he was willing to sell as it showed up in Ebay.co.uk, I did not type anything fancy to find it only "Corsair Dominator DDR3" and no checkboxes for new/used/UK only.

I have wanted items from EBay US and it states in their listing "May not ship to UK", now this does not mean they will not so I MSG them before I bid.

Now IMO this is a different situation as I read it as he will ship anywhere in Europe/EU whatever you want to call it now as its same location as before but not to Russia or China or USA etc etc.

I did post here for both sides so I am fine with your input and I will just ignore it and not bother with feedback period.

I may bung him 1/2 the cash and say he should be more careful in future but it is still unorthodox and I could get in bother, if he feels EB stung him with their listing tools he could try them for the cash.

Well if I need pay extra duty I will not be too chuffed as EB should state this like Amazon USA even Amazon UK but USA/Global seller and only if it has that already sorted by Amazon (probably in the price or even exempt for some reason) and a fair amount.

Just checked DHL Express:

Shipper has generated a shipment label, but the shipment has not yet been handed over to DHL

It may be he is not going to post it if I do not pay him (even though EB states it was posted above does not, so pay another 20 then possibly pay more again on DEL), I would rather forget it as there is always other items and know to avoid EU now.

Just an UPDATE.

I knew he was BS'ing going by fact the tracking records show he never handed the parcel over after getting a label for it so after being patient for a decent amount of time I contacted E-Bay CS and they agreed it was on UK site and I had not done any wrong and paid the asking price and even more so since I spoke to him he could have brought up any concerns.

I was asked to ask him for refund and E-Bay said they would tell him to do so in 2 days time after I speak to him.

He said it must have gone missing and he would look into it but refunded me the next day.

Thanks for the input. :)

I do not think either of us can do Feedback it as is if the sale never took place, but I have checked for him relisting the item. ;)

I doubt it, he had the label sent and claimed it has been posted where as carrier claim it was never handed over so could not be lost.

Anyhow case closed.
