as some of you may know I recently picked up an ipad mini for use when i'm out and about working,


Sunday morning came in from work stuck it on charge and buggered off for a shower and a cuppa. came back to find a non responsive dead ipad.

tried resetting etc nothing worked so jumped onto the apple website to try and book a genius bar appointment for during the week, low and behold the local store had a sunday appointment available for 11am.


toddled off into the store just before 11, walked back out 15 minutes later with a shiney new ipad with all my stuff on it without the slightest hassle whatsoever.


I know apple gets a lot of hate from a lot of people on this forum but their customer service is second to none, yes it was only a week old and Id have all the rights in the world to a replacement unit but there was just an air of no fuss get it sorted straight away attitude regards to the whole issue.

that said its the first failure I've had on an apple product over circa a dozen different items and I have to say i'm mightily impressed in how they dealt with the issue.
 
I've said it before, Apple reliability is way overstated but the customer service is, in most cases, very good. I send girls to get exchanges though. Higher success rate.
 
theheyes has pretty much summed it up perfectly. Do wish that some staff cut the whole "doing the customer a favour" act that they do at my local store.
 
The genius bar recently sorted my intermittent return key on an mbp in a few minutes, with the other option of a replacement lower half of the laptop if I still wasn't happy.

Their business accounts manager chatted to me in store about upgrading a few items, but when I said we were still working well on our current hardware, he was happy to leave it at that, no pushiness or follow up calls. :)

It's just a bit annoying that the nearest store is in MK.
 
I had a fantastic experience too. iPad home button was intermittently not responding. Took it in and they replaced the whole iPad there and then. Typing this from a shiny new one :)
 
I have dealt with apple many many times both as a customer, business customer and service partner and I've never had any issues. THe only issue I have is 3rd party companies that work as apple authorised companies.
