Another Example of Idiocy

I am surprised at the number of people on here who are happy to see violence against a woman who is peacefully protesting

Doesn't matter she's a woman.

The fault here is the fact that it fell on a Minister to perform the job of security, he isn't trained to restraint or move a potentially dangerous protester, yet he was put in a position where he felt he needed to. The fault here is the lack/absence of any security staff in a room where a lot of high level Politicians are making a speech. We shouldn't be complacent in this country, we've already had one MP murdered in recent times.

The protestor, Ms Barker, has said she won't be pressing charges but has suggested MPs should attend anger management courses. Fair play. :D

so why should he apologise to this *********? I think he had pretty good reactions and exactly the right approach.

Indeed, he did a good job, (especially for a, what do you call us, a "Gammon" ;)) in a controlled manner. The nub of this incident however is how could several identically dressed women get in to such a VIP venue with a senior government minister making an important speech? The private security firms many now use to secure such events are shown lacking all due diligence, not to mention the women there legitimately must be pretty dumb not to have thought a load of young women presumably few would know, all in red dresses must be deemed odd... Storming such events is a high risk endeavour, personally I would not be offended if someone had coshed or even shot one these people, they seem to think whatever their perceived causes they are above the law and above being very forcibly restrained. We live in volatile times where such a security incident could turn fatal at any moment. Security nil, Mr.Field a full ten marks. I may well burn a few old tyres today in protest to "Greenpeace's'" actions last night.... ;)

This is the same Green Peace the ruined part of the Nazca lines? lol useless bunch that as far as I can tell have achieved nothing.

After centuries of violence maybe? Ask them.

Your post gave me pause for thought, so I asked my wife. Her response was 'Oh that stupid bint from the terrorist organisation who gatecrashed a dinner party where sensitive figures were speaking? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. He showed remarkable restraint, I'd have done worse.'

So there's a woman's opinion; and no, she's not a Tory so none of that 'sticking together' nonsense either.

I think the biggest question that should be answered here is where the **** was the security.

If this was a high profile event, then it would seem evident that there should have been strict security in place to prevent non-authorised people from gaining entry.

except when you see the full video its totally different...she had already been down the aisle in front of him, she didnt just attempt to rush by an surprised him, everybody in the room could see what was happening, they had already been security screened entering the building

Even more reason to chuck her out if she wouldn’t leave.

Yes most women don't look at how women were treated centuries ago in order to play the victim card, only the loony left do that

Irony, if you tackle someone around the neck in a rugby match it's an offence...

Context matters, you do not expect to get assaulted for a peaceful protest.
You missed the point. The context here is that it wasn't a public event. She entered without permission and refused to leave. People in that room had no idea her intentions were entirely peaceful.

well just rewatched it and to be blunt iv seen a lot worse done by police when ejecting people who are trespassing and refuse to leave, she hasn't got a leg to stand on legally no matter how many people seem to think he assaulted her, and yes by definition her did but he also used reasonable force to remove her which is also legal.

Quite so. A peaceful protest involves sitting around on public property, holding signs and not getting in anyone's way (excess noise, traffic disruption, blocking buildings, etc). Storming into a private function on private property is trespass at best, and given the sensitivity of the attendees potentially much worse.

No surprise the country is in such a mess if GD is anything to go by.

Full of bleedin' wannabe Nazis.

She wasn't a suicide bomber or a terrorist. She was asserting her democratic right to protest.

Just a quick question, had the attacker been a man, would the media reaction be the same?

Probably not, ditto to who the politicians are and who the protest group is etc...

I suspect if it were a female MP throwing out say a fathers for justice protestor after a bunch of them came in dressed as super heroes etc... and generally being ****s then she’d be called “brave” etc...
