Just because I am in need of a new mouse. My ~11 year old Microsoft Intellimouse v1 has finally bitten the dust.
Now, I have in the past used a Razer mouse, and my hand could not get used to the shape. I've tried a few others, logitech included, and I've also struggled to find them comfortable.
The difficulty I'd have in choosing is that you can't really try before you buy with these mice, certainly most retailers would charge a restocking fee(?), and I'd probably end up spending a lot on shipping fees.
I don't really need 20 buttons on my thumb, indeed I've no idea how I'd actually use them having never used thumb buttons before. And I'm not convinced I'm in need of super high resolution - I do play FPS games, but the Microsoft mouse certainly never had super high resolution.
I'm not convinced about wireless mice - I'm sure they're better these days but they never seemed to last long enough when I tried them in the past, and often had issues. I guess if I were to get a wireless it would have to have a docking station rather than take batteries. They tend to be a lot more expensive though..
So: I'm after a mouse which is similar in shape to the old intellimouse, preferrably with back/forward buttons on opposite sides of the mouse (doesn't seem to be the norm these days either!), I've discounted the Roccat series already because I've read a lot about the problems with the scrollwheel, which I use a lot.
