Another help me choose thread

the game will use your system memory, and that is only two games, that aren't as popular as say crysis 2

There will be more and more games using more vram. Crysis 2 can even benefit from more than 1.5GB occasionally (not for those who regards 30 fps as smooth, born to be insensitive to lag spikes).

If TurboCache and HyperMemory are as powerful as you think, why don't nVidia or AMD make flagship cards with 0MB vram?

because not everyone has over 4gb of ram
30fps minimum is smooth :p
I know that maore games will be using more vram, but there will not be a standard 2gb of vram for gaming by the time kepler is released

Then do you mean when everyone has over 4GB RAM, nVidia and AMD can start making flagship cards with 0MB vram?

Do you seriously think it is a good idea to dump that much cash into a pair of GTX570 1.25GB in SLI, only to fail to max out games like Shogun 2 / GTA4 etc and future games, without hacking, and to upgrade immediately to Kepler in months?

Longevity-wise the 6950 is a better idea? As It will last me longer and I can get another and crossfire?

Yes. However selling whichever card you buy now and upgrading to 28nm cards may also be an option. It's totally up to the performance and price of the upcoming 28nm cards. It might be better to switch to a 28nm card, or adding another 6950 for crossfire, whichever brings more performance/price ratio. So having a 6950 2GB now gives you more flexibility, at the cost of having slightly worse performance than a single GTX570.
