They seem to be all the rage these days. Everyones wants one now. They've been around for years and years and yet they're just starting to take off.

Anyway. I was wondering how everyone turned there's on?

Do you have to get up and hit the button? Do you leave it in standby mode and turn it on with a keypress or do you use something like "WOL" from your Ipod/Iphone.

I personally have to get up and hit the button, because whenever it's in standby if I switch the tv onto Sky or something, it boots back up... very annoying.

my htpc's power switch it wired into the ir reciever, so i can use the power button on the remote to turn it on

Have to get up and turn it on.

This reminds me actually, need a new wireless keyboard with the mouse joystick...

Yeah, I've been sucked into this HTPC craze too I have to admit. Built mine for my Dad so he can watch stuff at home.

As for how to turn it on...he can get up and push the button!:p

Leave it in standby, then just press a key on my Logitech Dinovo Mini, and it's instantly on. The height of laziness!

Is that keyboard any good? whats the touch pad like?

It's ok, although there's better and cheaper alternatives out there. It does look cool though, and obviously it's nice and compact.
For the amount of time I actually use my HTPC it suffices, if you use your HTPC on a regular basis then I couldn't really recommend it.

I've found the cheaper and larger Keysonic wireless models are better for a more regular user.
They come with a pretty good mouse pad and a decent sized keyboard, instead of the small fiddly round disc and tiny keyboard you get on the Logitech.
