Hey

Im after some help with a new htpc build, ive got a budget of 400 which has to include case, ram, mobo(onboard gfx), hard drive, vista home premium and PSU. Oh im after one of those media remotes so maybe i could save money somewhere and fit one in?

I already have a Tv card but its a full height card, will this be a problem?

Ive put this together but im just wondering if i should change anything etc?

Thanks for any help :)

Hi mate that looks like a nice set up.

Are you going to be using the onboard HDMI or going for a GPU?

Your TV card should be fine with the Antec case, though there are far better looking cases out there, i considered the antec as a replacement to my Silverstone one but they were almost the same size - too big.

Check out the Thermaltake cases:

Bach SX

Mozart SX

If i decide to change my case i'll prob be getting the Mozart SX

You can pick up both with the VFD, remote and inbuilt IR for the same price as the Antec case

Also check out the Silverstone range, they are solid.

Ok thanks,

I would probably use the hdmi as its going to replace a standard PC being used on a 37" LCD so should be fine.

Do riser cards generally come with the motherboard or case if needed?

The only advantage of the fusion is the built in PSU though, agreed the thermaltakes are better looking...

Risers usually come with the case but you can also pick them up separately too.

Check that other site for a MCE remote or if your tv card came with one it might work in vista mce as the wintv ones do.

cheers
