Hi,

I have recently built my first gaming PC. I decided to try overclocking the CPU today as I wanted to get a little bit more from my system. After reading a bit about it, someone recommended just changing the CPU multiplier from 33 to whatever I wanted my CPU speed to be.

I tried setting this to 45 as I read this is a decent and safe speed for my CPU (Intel I5 2500K). After testing with Prime95, my system crashed and I got a blue error screen. I reduced the multiplier to 42 and tested for around 15 mins with Prime95. This seemed to work fine but I'm not sure whether the temps are too high.

I am getting around 39-43C while idling and a max of 69C with Prime95 doing a blend test. Is this ok or too high?

Also wondering whether doing this will make much of a difference or should I push it up to 4.5?

My components -

- ASRock Extreme4 Gen3
- Intel I5 2500K
- 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 XMS3 1333
- Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler
- 650W PSU, OCZ Technology ZS Series
- 1GB MSI GTX 560Ti OC Twin Frozr II

Thanks in advance!
