I've been having problems with my ipod for a while now and last night I plugged it in to update and I left it for an hour to update. After it said it had updated I unplugged it an it now has only 6 songs on it. I now plug it in and i will not update?

Its a 20gb click wheel

Thanks

Its iTunes related. These things ALWAYS happen. Keep fiddling with it. :(

I wouldn't be so sure about that! My ipod wouldn't update using itunes because the hard drive was broken. Initially everything looked fine after i updated it but when i tried to find the 'new' songs, they weren't there. Then half of my music was wiped out overnight. Try formatting the player using the ipod updater tool. If that works then try formatting it using windows by right clicking the drive and choosing format to check for errors.

I thought my 20gb iPod colour was dead because the firmware got corrupted and then the updater would not run. I took it back to JL where I bought it and got them to look at it.

They flashed it with the mac firmware and then back to windows while I waited. Problem solved, I just had to let iTunes reload all my music for a couple of hours.
