Another lame spec me thread...

Yello!

My little sister is in dire need of a new desktop, her old 1.4 celeron laptop is not cutting the mustard.

She is 7 and needs something she can use to play facebook games on etc and MW2 which I will buy her, she loves COD.

I was thinking along the lines of a lga775 system with a G41 board, but I am on the very tight budget.

I already have a 160GB sata HDD and 9800GT gpu for her. So I would like opinions on cpu, memory, mobo, case, dvd and psu.

Looks good, but whats the onboard gpu like... anything as good as a 9800gt???

I was thinking along the lines of a pentium dual core what my misses has... 775 one at 3ghz with a 775 board...

Can get all that for around £170ish... but ahh!

The GFX core chugs along nicely, I did a little test here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18338581

Included some vids of more demanding games, quite smooth in reality, but I was using a better Llano quad core chip with the 6550D core.

Yea she doesn't need a quad, I can get away with my athlon X4 "just" but she just needs a basic system. Say she used the 9800GT (doesn't need a 6pin, gets all power from PCI-E), what would you recommend?

With a 9800gt I personally would get the H61 with a Pentium/Celeron.

Dont get the really cheap Celeron, the G530 is higher clocked and has more cache.
