Another laptop thread?

First thing, i want to get rid of my desktop, its an ageing 4790k with 32gb ram with an 1080ti.

If i intended to "mostly" game on it with it plugged into my LG CX, how viable is it really?

It's either a 4080 or a last gen 3080ti laptop isn't it? Its early days for 4080 laptops, from a quick google at least so i guess i am no great rush.

With any other electronics market, its usually best to wait a little bit for the price to creep down but isn't how the PC market works anymore. :D

It's gonna be anywhere between £2500-£3500 but i am thinking just **** it, i've got the money, i can't take it with me and i'm not getting any younger (now 47)

Which models should i avoid would be the best place to start i guess?
 
Well, so much for "waiting", got a Legion Pro i7 16 32gb ram RTX 4080 on its way in 3-4 weeks. :D

I know this Gen Pro model has been stripped of features compared to the last Gen.

£2664 with 2 years premium care with onsite service, 2 years still a bit of a risk but no way was i getting just a one year "warranty".
 
How did you get it cheaper? I've got the same TV but think I will be going for the Acer helios 18 myself, I want the bigger screen and I can get that one at a good price too. Should be a decent laptop for general game use.
 
Not bad then, I'm after bigger screen so won't work for me anyway but glad you got it cheaper. I'm waiting on some reviews of the Helios 18 before I take the plunge but hoping it avoids the coil whine the asus one had.
