Probably one for the older members of the community but I've been wracking my brains trying to remember the title/series of a TV episode I saw in the late 70's, possibly early 80's.
Definitely British, it told the story of a former RAF pilot now a commercial airline captain. He had some sort of issue (haunting?) with his old abandoned wartime airbase which at the end of the episode, he landed his airliner there rather than the correct airport, resulting in a fatal crash.
I was convinced it was an episode from Tales Of The Unexpected but nothing listed on Wikipedia matches the plot.
It's not the Twilight Zone or Spielberg's Amazing Stories. It's not "The Survivor", the movie based on the James Herbert book which was moved to Australia and the crash was at the beginning. It's not Sole Survivor or its elusive predecessor about the ghost airmen in the desert.
Any ideas, gang?
