Another NAS or a Microserver

So I am looking at the above options really. My current setup includes a NAS, Popcorn Hour, Raspberry Pi, Sonos, Bose systems and the whole house wired with Cat 6.

I am looking for something to store a ton of media, backup both windows and apple mac systems and run an nzb client in the background. Being able to watch films and listen to music via remote login would be good, as would being able to save to my dropbox.

Currently deciding between the Asustor 302-T two bay NAS. I like the idea of the integrated HDMI, dropbox and other apps like remote access via a dedicated iOS app. But it all seems quite new and a lot of the apps are user developed which puts me off a bit.

At the same time though, I like the idea of the micro server in terms of the added flexibility it will offer. It's also a lot cheaper!

I don't know enough about windows server to know if I would be able to do what I want to do with the HP box, I know I can with the Asustor though as it's what I do with my existing NAS.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The Asustor is great, I've been using one since they come out and they have been getting a lot better with more app support. The built in Portal has been great for me too as I've been able to make a htpc redundant.

I'm currently running a QNAP TS-470 which is a whole new league of beast.

The microservers are very good value. One of those running the Synology firmware (XPEnology) would be good but perhaps not plug and play like a nas.

I use a HP N54L with XPEnology and I can't fault it at all. Also you have all the synology android\apple mobile apps to use ;)
