COH and now Splinter Cell DA, both games go faster when booting on 1 graphics card even with the latest updates.

With 2x 7800gtx & fx60 I've seen Splinter Cell give an average of 20fps at 1280 in SLI, although on 1 card you get 24fps WTF  (so if it used SLI it would give a near playible 35-40fps?)

Al least Oblivion uses 2 cards :p if not dualcore (even with multi thread .ini edits).

I was going save for 2x 8800gtx, though not now, just a good job it may scrape by without SLI for the moment.
Good news though, I think Crysis is made by the same peeps who made Farcry (which uses SLI & dualcore after 2 years of updates lol).

This is why I bought the fastest single card solution I could (8800GTX), if games aren't going support SLI what is the point ;)

HEADRAT

Its laughable when a game runs & uses the 'nVidia it's meant to be played intro' then does not support SLI :D

Even the nVidia website is plastered in SLI bumf, a bit like Ageas website promoting their card, like err what’s the point if software developers don't have a clue  lol.

Assuming COH is Company of Heros, I got SLi working by setting it to Alternate Frame Render in the nvidia control panel settings:

With shadows at medium and everything else maxed I get the following in the performance test:

Average frame rate: 61.8
Maximum frame rate: 158.6
Minimum frame rate: 14.8

This is at 1920x1200 res

It does suck though that nvidia cant get it sorted. I'm waiting till the new year to see what ATI bring to the table, then it may be goodbye 7800gtx's... Well they are getting on a bit now!

Exactly. I had 7900Gts in SLI, for about a week before i sold both cards and went to ATI. I was really dissappointed with SLI, i thought everything was going to show improvement, but maybe only 50% of games did. For the outlay of an extra 200 pounds i felt a bit robbed.

Gonna stick to single card solutions from now on.

Aye, been my experience too.

Also assuming by COH you mean Company of Heros - as I've not tried that - but City of Heros (what I automatically think of when I see COH) runs in multi GPU mode fine on my 7950GX2...

I haven't actually (yet) found a game that doesn't benefit from the 7950GX2 over a single 7900 card, even ones which don't supposedly support SLI... but then its a strange card...

my SLI annoys the hell out of me

i've got 2x 7800gtx 256mb, and each of them get about 8500 in 3dmark 05 on their own....but combined they onyl get 10200 (see sig)....and most other people with the same cards seem to get about 12000 in 05....not happy

I've tried various driver versions, mght try a bios flash and a chipset driver update and see if that fixes it coz i would have though and A8N-SLI deluxe would have been fine in SLI tbh?

I don't really notice much of an improvement in games with 2 cards over one either, oblivion did improve so battles were playable in max everything without an fps hit in the grass, fear improved too but BF2 barely got any fps increase (not that I care coz its like 90fps with one anyway)

i suspect my cpu is causing some bottleneck but 3dmark05 is not that trying on cpus and im losing like 2000 points compared to most other people with my cards, id expect atleast 11500 tbh and im getting about 10200

I know id get a much better 06 score than 5400 if I had a better cpu as a lot of that test is cpu as well

If i can be arsed il do chipset drivers and bios, but im gona sell the whole lot soon anyway and get quad core, 2gig ddr2 and a dx10 card so its not bothering me too much to tide me over

Going back to ATI myself, have been running SLI on 2 x 6800 GT's but one card is poorly so just bought an X1800 XT in the MM, should spit out the 6800's :)

I wasn't seeing much of an improvement with SLI anyway, probably because my max res on my tft is 1280 x 1024.

This all makes me feel so nice about ordering my SLI 8800 GTX :p

Hopefully, i'l at least see an improvement over quad which as i'm reading recently here, is broken. Gaming at 1920x1200 :)
