This is what I intend to build in the near future, but open to criticism/advice:

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Full Tower Case

PSU: Corsair AX860i Digital 860W Modular Power Supply

Mobo: Gigabyte Z170X Gaming G1 Skylake SLi/Crossfire ATX Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K Unlocked Skylake Desktop Processor/CPU - BX80662I76700K

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Dual Radiator Quiet CPU Cooler with two NH-A15 Fans

Memory: Corsair 16GB DDR4 Red Vengeance LPX 2666MHz Memory Kit for Skylake 2x8GB

GFX: Gigabyte G1 GAMING GTX 980Ti NVIDIA Graphics Card - 6GB-2 x 8 pin-Windforce

Drives: Kingston PCIe 240GB HyperX Predator M.2 2280 SSD/Solid State Drive Only

Samsung 512GB 850 PRO Performance 2.5" SSD/Solid State Drive

WD Re Enterprise 500GB HDD WD5003ABYZ 500GB WD Re 3.5" 24x7 Enterprise HDD SATA3

Optical: Liteon Ihas324 24x Dvd±rw (dual ±r)/ram Sata Drive

Monitors: Dell U2715H 27" LED Monitor with IPS Panel
Dell P2714H 27" LED Monitor with IPS Panel

Keyboard: Corsair Raptor K40 Multicolour RGB LED

Mouse: Corsair Vengeance M95 Performance Laser Gaming Mouse

Mouse mat: Corsair Gaming CGM600 Standard Dual Sided Gaming Surface

Other thoughts depending if I have more funds than I thought, might be:

Corsair H110i GTX Hydro Cooler
2nd Gigabyte GTX980Ti
another M.2 drive and Samsung 512GB SSD.

If anyone wants to offer any changes, please go ahead.

Budget I am hoping will be around £3,000-£3,500.

I built my last machine back in 2008, and chose the Gigabyte flagship EA EX58 xtreme board and the i7 920 - I wish I had bought perhaps a faster cpu, but hey ho.
Plus a pair of ATI HD 4870X2's for CF.....:)

It is fun, but it takes hours trying to pick parts, check reviews written or on YT for all the items. I don't have the funds yet which is why I have some time to try and nail down what I want so that when the time comes I can just bung my order into Overclockers (mostly) and wait for the parts to arrive. :D

Thanks.

HI and welcome.

It looks like you need everything including monitor, keyboard, mouse.

But what about speakers and operating system?

Is this going to be used for gaming, editing etc?

Thanks for taking the time to reply..

I just use a headset+ mic, as the wife shouts at me when using speakers...:)

I use it for general stuff and playing games..currently World of Tanks.

No problems with an OS as I use Win 10 Pro 64bit (free upgrade)

I won't be robbing stuff from my current PC with is working just fine for the last 7 years, which I am happy about since I spent a lot of money on that one. :)

It has two monitors, but the 24" Dell 2408WFP is showing signs of illness, and the 22" Samsung is fine, so it will be left as it is as a working spare computer, and will be handy to use when building the new one when the time comes, for getting latest drivers and stuff.

So as you can see I am building a completely new PC from Case to new chair, not mentioned as irrelevant to build. :)

Ok, here are parts just to make the tower up with,

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,830.76
(includes shipping: £15.90)

The board comes with a 8GB stick of RAM for free, but for the extra £34.99 you can a 2nd stick making 16GB in total (2x8GB)

The PSU is made by Superflower and has a 10yr warranty.

The extra cables are for "looks".

A bundle that is already overclocked for you.

Bigger PSU as X99 uses more power.

Wow, you have been hard at work.

Thanks, those list has given me something to think about, so thank you for taking the time to do it.

Now for some further research...:D
