I'm heading to VW Action at Santa Pod in a few weeks for a long weekend. I remember how far away the toilets and showers were from where the Baja Club were camping last year so this year I'm bringing something to get about a bit quicker than walking.

Mini motos and pit bikes are prohibited, which I guess means I wont get away with my 50cc mountainboard or the G-Wheel (picture). I can fully understand - they make quite a racket and are probably a health and safety / public liability insurance problem.

So I've come up with another solution. How about a simple unassuming skateboard. ;)

Powered by a 24v battery slung underneath. Havent taken a look as its all hidden away in the body of the unit.

Just been out on it. Quite hard to control the power / brake. Its got an electronic speed controller, so the power goes on gradually. I'd rather full on beef the second I press the button - but I guess that would damage the motor and make a lot of people fall off.

Its relatively stable at speed. It goes about as fast as you'd want a skateboard to go. No idea how actual fast that is - but its fast enough.

I forgot how much you feel bumps on skateboards using solid wheels. Even with the front suspension, you still feel it at the back.

Oh and the thing at the back is a brake on the rear wheel.
