Another old computer!

This is another old computer i have grabbed from a family member can i speed it up for basic gaming and web browsing?

chuck a agp graphics card in there, something like an ATI 9800 and you might be able to play doom 95 or something similar, oh and chuck a bit more ram in for good measure lol

Ditto with the web browser, media player 720p, mame/retro games.

Get a bit more ram maybe, seen ddr go for as little as £1-2 for 1GB.

Don't spend any real money on it.

the kids want to play runescape ect and i want to be able to watch listen to music vids thats about it can you tell me where you seen that ram?

agp graphics card and atleast 1gb ram should be ok for kids, fresh install might be good to if it an old one

Older machines typically take well to more RAM and a quicker HDD when it comes to basic tasks.

i have just added another harddrive 180Gb also will this graphics card work on my machine.

ATI Radeon 9000
256MB DDR memory
AGP connector
DVI, VGA and TV-out

I get confused at AGPx4 x8 lol i think this is x2 it looks the same to mine.
