6th Xbox360 has packed in, thought I could give it some life with towels, kicking, loving and the like but no, dead as a dead thing!

Just phone Microsoft, emailed me the labels and expect a return in 30 days!!!

That's the LAN Party one 360 down - sorry guys.

Nearly didn't get anything. You just couldn't make it up: I live on "Box Road", but their system wouldn't allow my address to go through because it was expecting a "PO BOX" number, and "Road" isn't a number!!!!!!!

So the lad had to do it as "## B0x Road" (a zero instead on an O) in order for it to go through.

Crazy!

I think many months ago I was involved in a discussion on one of these threads, and I *think* it was DirtyDog and myself that were talking about my 'environment' and why I had so many failures.

The unit it stood vertically, although the first 2 or 3 were horizontal. Only reason why it's vertical, for me, was space saving and I had a crazy/logical idea that ventilation would be better that way.

No uber-long sessions, no kids, no moving it, no nothing. The "ONLY" possible explanation I can think of, for me anyway, is coal dust. I have a solid fuel fire and those who have or have had one will know that the damn dust will get everywhere! My PC has some damn good filter systems in it, and it's opened up and cleaned every couple of months. Only thing I can do with the console is blow in it, whether this blows out the air or forces it to pile up in a corner I don't know.

Only indication I had that it was failing was last night. About to go through Portal Advanced, phone rang, was on for an hour, came off the phone and saw someone had sent me a message so pressed the jewel button and as the blade opened up it hung. Waited a minute or two, switched the console off, left it 10mins while I went for a drink, came back and it gave me 3 red lights.

Tried it again throughout the night, but no joy. Same this morning but won't even switch on now, just gives 3 red lights (no fans activate or anything) so it's well and truely borked.

Microsoft have said they don't want the harddrive (thankfully!) but their procedure has changed since the last one I had a problem with as they are emailing me address labels which I've to attach to a "cardboard box", ring UPS to arrange a pick up and take it from there.

So well fed up, can't take it back to the shop as I bought it in Exeter (none high street, just a cheap little game shop) so has to go home to Microsoft.

O well.

If your stuck for a box dude gimmie a shout (I assume you have my email addy somewhere...) I have the box mine was returned in if your interested :)

Also myself and McChumpiel are bring spare 360's to the LAN so bring your axe and we can still jam on GH2 :D

Cheers buddy, I *think* I've got a box somewhere, it's the packing/protection I may have a problem with, but I'm sure one of the neighbours will have some bubble wrap stuff.

Zippy has just been picked up and is now on his way to hospital.

Mr. UPS said he's picked up 5 today already and has also dropped off about 3 or 4 which have taken about 2 week to be returned.

So hopefully I "MAY" have Zippy back for the LAN.

Stop breaking 360's!

Just beta-testing the hardware!! :p

Thats a good point Kreeeee....

Suprised my Elite didn't pack in last weekend :p

(2 low blows in 1 day? :D)

You would not believe the sweat I lost every morning when I turned yours on. I kept looking over the TV at you, seeing what the hardest object was closest to you, closing my eyes and pressing the button on.

I'm surprised more didn't break with the heat in that room!

It was ok once your row stopped turning the radiators on though :p

Joking aside, I was actually surprised as well, it was VERY warm in that room, and The Chadd kept causing one of the table lights (which was placed on the floor) to flicker which I had visions of blowing the entire room.

Wasn't the radiators though, it was those 28" TV's!!! I turned them on and the static was so much my eyelashes moved towards them!! :D

Note to self:

When the Xbox360 Support webpage changes to "Device Shipped To Customer", what it actually means is that the repair centre have printed off a ticket and it will be about another 7 days!

Been F5ing the UPS website on the hour, every hour, and now reads:

In Transit - On Time
Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 11/20/2007.

:) x 1000

You won't see me for dust when mine comes!
