Yet another tale of woe about parcelforce

Ordered some trainers from Schuh, they were sent out via parcelforce, supposed to be delivered today. I knew nobody would be home, as I was at work and my wife had taken my baby daughter out shopping.

So it gets to 12:30 and my pocket goes "ping" for a received e-mail, apparently my parcel has been successfully delivered, which I thought was odd as parcelforce normally dont leave packages unless they have a signature, maybe Mrs Halestorm has not gone out yet.

I look at the tracking website, there's a rather nice button that says "View electronic proof of delivery", so I click it expecting it to say my wifes name, and to see her signature on the screen. But instead I see my own name in a poor scribble.

After a quick phone call to wifey to check she hadn't signed for it, and a quick call to my neighbour to check he hadn't taken it in for me. I get a bit annoyed.

Upon my return home I expect the parcelforce man to have scribbled my name down and left the parcel in the porch or behind the bin, where other couriers have left things before. But no, there is no parcel anywhere to be seen!

I have talked to a 'Schuh' representative on their live chat facility who say they will report this to parcelforce. Who will "investigate" what has happened.

Does anyone know what this investigation entails? and how long it will take?

I don't think the driver will have nabbed the package, but if he has delivered it, forged my signature, then someone has come along and pinched it..who is liable? I'm assuming that it would be the driver as he hasn't followed proper procedure?

All in all i'm rather annoyed, as until this is sorted i'm down either 2 pairs of shoes, or £85
 
The investigation is nothing to do with you OP demand a replacement is sent out.

The lost parcel is between the sender and parcel force, it's not your problem.

I say lost, it's fraud as someone (probably the driver) has signed your name and made off with the parcel.
 
Had a good hunt round to make sure it couldn't have been hidden, checked with neighbours and it seems that either that drivers nabbed it or some other scrote has seen him leave it and nabbed it
 
I can't believe the driver would do this over two shoes that aren't worth risking your job for that probably won't even fit

Could be but that is crazy if it is

My dpd driver got annoyed at me never being in and asked me to sign a 'authorisation letter' allowing him to put it in the shed
I said no.. If my 1000+ camera lens gets left (or nicked) then to me I would be responsible as I authorised it

That's what I am thinking, from last time I had a delivery from Schuh it was in quite a distinctive mailing bag, I'm wondering if some low-life has seen him drop the bag off, noticed no-one was in and has nabbed it knowing that there is at least 1 pair of shoes inside. Going to keep an eye out for the one of the local scrotes wearing a pair of green Adidas ZX 700s now
 
Its been reported, just got to wait for them to do the investigation. Looks like it might be a refund now though, the shoes I wanted are no longer in stock :(

No you don't. The investigation is between the retailer and Parcelforce. As far as you are concerned, you didn't get your order, and the problem between the retailer and their courier is nothing to do with you.

If you do a chargeback on your credit card, "goods not received" is good enough, because the contract between you and the retailer has not been met.
 
Had this with Rainforest logistics...

Ordered an SD card for my tab, first day "no-one in cant deliver".... why not put it through the letterbox??! Second day, "cant find your address..." emm what?! and it gets marked as delivered.

Straight onto the rainforest to complain and extra prime month and another sent out to collect+ point.

Their logistics company are slowly getting to my No.1 spot for ******* delivery company..

I think they'd have to fight hard with Citylink for my top spot to be honest.

As the others have said, demand they send you some more out, the investigation is nothing to do with you.
 
Had a call from a very nice and helpful lady at Schuh, who turned out to be the main customer service manager. She told me parcelforce had checked their GPS logs and the van had been at my property, but as it had been signed for they are being stubborn. She asked me to send her a photo of my signature on an official document so she could show it to parcel force and tell them to pay up.
The replacement shoes are already on their way to me, in the correct sizes and colour matching the order from a store down south somewhere who had them, they are coming via DPD and will arrive tomorrow.
 
Further update, Schuh have contacted me again, the driver has admitted to forging my signature and leaving the parcel in an insecure location. The lovely customer service lady also informed me aswell as sending my replacement trainers (which have arrived via DPD) they are refunding the total cost of my order, so I now have free trainers
 
That's a great outcome Halestorm! I would like to see the driver disciplined now though, as that's amounts to theft.

A couple of years ago, someone on OcUK got the sack from one of the big-3 supermarkets for stealing a packet of crisps... just as a comparison!

The driver should answer for his actions but he didn't steal anything.
