hello
ive been reading various other threads with the same sort of problem for clues but none seem to help, so heres my problem-

this was my first build and its been running very well since feb but two days ago i accidently turned the power off at the wall behind my desk with my foot during the boot (silly i know), and ive been unable to boot since. theres no led or fan activity at all when i turn the power on.

the motherboard lights remain on but when i press power nothing happens. ive tried the psu (without motherboard) on the case, hard disk, dvd drive etc using the paper clip hotwire trick and they all work so i think the psu is fine, just when its connected to the mobo nothing at all works. ive checked all the connections and swapped around the ram etc.....my system is:

asus p6t deluxe
intel i7 920
noctua NH-U12P cpu cooler
3x2gb corsair 1600 dominator ram
corsair 750tx psu
nvidia gtx295
antec 1200

it worked for months, but now nothing. any thoughts?
thanks

Dead motherboard maybe?

Wait for someone with more knowledge of this situation first before you do something like replace the motherboard.

I had somethink similiar to you other day. I tested everything and decide to conclude that the motherboard had fried..... Best thing to do is get a RMA on it.

Take all components out, aside from a single strip of RAM and the graphics card, disconnect the PC from the mains and do a CMOS reset, then try again.

If it fails to boot I would get te RMA ball rolling on your M/B

it works!

cmos reset did the trick i think.

i tried this last night as well before i posted before but only for what the manual recommends, with is 5-10 seconds. but i left the jumpers on clear overnight and in the morning it works.

thanks for the help!
