Okay now i fixed my pc so it stays on now but my motherboard has intergreated graphics and when i plug my main graphics card in AMD radeon 7970 it dont work i get nothing on the screen but then if i put the hdmi in the motherboard to get the intergreated graphics it works fine

my uncle said i might have to disable to onboard graphics but i dont know ??

It's nothing to worry about, just a simple option in the BIOS :)

What motherboard is it?

When the PC boots up, press 'delete' (it's usually delete, but sometimes it's a different key) straight away to get into the BIOS, once in the BIOS look for an option that says 'Onboard Graphics' or words to that effect and disable it.

I'm afraid I don't have skype. I've just had a look for images of the BIOS and found this....

It's called 'internal graphics' in the BIOS.

It should tell you exactly what to do to get into your BIOS in the manual for the motherboard. It's usally to press 'delete' as soon as you swicth the PC on, the BIOS will show and then you just go to the 'Peripherals' tab and set 'internal graphics' to 'disabled'. Then press F10 to save the new setting and restart the PC and you should be good to go.

Edit: If you don't have your manual to hand here it is...http://www.manualowl.com/m/Gigabyte/GA-Z77X-UD3H/Manual/273230?page=53

Chapter 2 explains how to get in the BIOS. :)

Go back into the BIOS and double check that 'internal graphics' is definitely disabled. Double check all the leads to make sure they're going into the graphics card and not the onboard graphics.

Edit: From looking at pictures of the 7970 it looks like it takes 2 power leads, have you definitely got the 2 plugged in?

When you switch the PC on is the fan on the graphics card spinning up? Are you getting any beeps from the motherboard?

Does it sound/look as if the PC is starting up ok, apart from not getting a picture on the monitor? If you have a DVI cable, try using that instead of the HDMI cable. If after you have disabled the onboard graphics, try putting the video cable into the motherboard graphics connector and see if you still get a picture, if you have done everything correctly you shouldn't get a picture.

Failing all that, if everything's set up correctly, I'm not sure what the problem could be. If it was me my next step would be to check to make sure the graphics card is definitely working by putting it into another machine. Not sure if you have that option though.

ive used dvi and hdmi and im saving it and the fans on the graphics does spin when all wires are connected, ive phoned a guy thats going to come out to check on it, because this has stumped me
