Another PS3 joins Team OcUK...

Having to wait two days for a WU can be a little frustrating, so I've have raided all the old PS2, PSP, Gamecube stuff which I haven't used for ages (because I tend to go onto the PC and play WoW and EVE) and traded them in against about half the cost of a secondhand PS3 (apparently people have been buying them and then realising they can no longer afford luxuries....like food).

Now it's folding away for team 10!

I cant wait to get back home and get hold of my PS3 again, get it folding to rack up some serious points. Even quicker now that the update has been realsed

I've just joined also, I've never done this before, I,ve just joined team 10, I guess that's right and I changed my Donor name to my Gamertag (lowrider007007), can you track your progress anywhere ?

When you have sent back your first Work Unit your stats will appear here: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_list.php?s=&a=1&t=10

It may take a few hours after your WU finishes before your name appears.

OK I have been looking every where and I can't find an answer:

Why doesn't the PS3 client run in the background? Is it a limitation of the PS3s architecture/software or is it intentional?

My friend asked me this because he keeps forgetting to turn his PS3 on just for folding

As has been said you can set it to come on after a fixed time of being idle - like a screensaver

I would guess the reason it can't run all the time is due to the relatively small RAM the PS3 has and them not wanting to take the chance of other tasks getting affected by FAH

And they look even better now I've got the PS3 hooked up to my TV's HD socket (It's only got a DVI-I sopcket, so I had to send off for a HDMI - DVI cable, which I got very cheaply on eBay)
