Just looking for a new power supply to go with the new upgrade to my pc. from what I gather looking at watts load of modern intel rigs, i don't need a massive PSU - i'm looking initially at an i3 3220 with a view to getting a used i7 3770k later when they're a couple of years old and affordable 2nd hand. Gigabyte m-atx z77 mobo, not sure which yet, the mx-ds3 or the G1 sniper, probably a hd7770 gpu, 1xSSD, 1x2.5" wd scorpio drive, and some 7200rpm 3.5" drive for games.. there will be other drives in there but those will spend most of the time off

always had antec PSUs except my current rig which is a tagan 420w and has given me serious concerns all the time i've had it (6yr) and i do believe in spending as much as possible on quality of PSU. Not got massive budget for this pc so i was looking at OCZ ZS 550w and Antec VP 450w. I've been reading up on 80+ standards and various PSUs and have decided to go for something a tad better.. narrowed the shortlist down and i really can't differentiate between the 3 i have, especially as reviews are very thin on the ground for the smallest psus..

Antec Earthwatts 80+ platinum 450w
Seasonic G Series 80+ gold 450w
BeQuiet e9 Straight Power 400w

as far as i can tell, the BeQuiet is more efficient than the better quality Seasonic, a bit cheaper too, in fact being one of the most efficient all round, the antec is an unknown quantity and costs as much as the seasonic but i found a review of one of the bigger earthwatts platinums and the reviewer didn't seem too impressed.. certainly would expect the seasonic to be better quality than it

efficiency and reliability are key here, silence would be nice too.. Help me choose? :D
