A very small yet significant problem is forcing me to have to consider changing my current psu:

The parts in question are:
Silverstone FT03
OCZ Modxstream 600W

Nothing wrong with it - on the contrary, its been working superbly for over a year. The problem is it not fitting in the case.

Now I already have a corsair HX650W, new replacement under warranty, which at the moment is up for sale in the MM, but it can be used to solve this problem.

The thing is I feel it is overkill for the components I am using. Those being:

i5 750 at 3.2GHz
Gigabyte P55M-UD4
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3
XFX Black GTX260 (216)
Asus Xonar Essence ST
USB 3 pci-e card
2 x 3.5" hard drives (500GB samsung F3 and a 640GB WD caviar black)

So I'm looking for a more suitable (lower wattage) psu for that lot, and maybe some upgrades in the coming year.
Not interested in multi GPU setups, or extreme overclocking, or even more than 2 hard drives - which is what is putting me off using the HX650 - it is way more than I need and I'd rather sell it.

Not too fussed if not modular (providing it doesn't have a lot of cables), just reliability and efficiency are important.

Edit: and horizontal kettle lead socket! :D

If you are thinking of upgrading, the HX650 is pretty much ideal for single card setups. That will power anything reasonable.

Dunno if you'll save much by selling the Corsair and buying a lesser PSU, especially if you upgrade later and that PSU is not adequate for your new rig.

my $0.02.

I have a HX620. It is over-specced for my needs (probably using 1/2 that), but I'd rather have too much power than not enough!

What's the issue? Is the lead interfering with the door when trying to close it?

If so could you not just space it 2-3mm into the case with longer screws and some long rubber grommits?

^Yep that is the issue. Ideally needs to go back ~1cm (because the door slides down from above, it has to clear the entire plug (not just the lead below)), which it just about does if I push it, but it is a bit tight to push back (with the cables on the other side). If something stiff is inserted to prevent it from sliding back it could work. I don't know what screws or spacers to use.

Hmm, sounds reasonable. Is it problem if max load is about half of what it is rated for (never mind idle consumption, which I guess would be quite low)?

Edit: You know what, nevermind. It's only temporary until I figure out an itx build.
