Probably seems stupid to some, but i've bought leather seats for the car.

My car originally had the Cesaro interior (dotty seats and door cards) then the previous owner re-trimmed the door cards in Cobra seats blue material, to match the reclining bucket seats he had (stripped out rear).

I find bucket seats an inconvenience unless they are reclining, but the reclining ones are expensive from new, and he wanted £400 at the time for his set, so i told him to leave it.

He then must have gone to a scrap yard, and got the interior out of a 5-door car, as the front seats don't 'flip' forward to let passengers in the rear, so you have to adjust the back right to the front to get people in. The other problem is with the blue doorcards, and dotty seats, it all looks a bit mis-matched.

So, after coming back from holiday i was talking to a chap who had a MINT Calibra leather interior. The front seats aren't as supportive as the Cesaro ones (Recaro) but they are comfortable. The only thing i don't like are the headrests, a common trick is to get Cavalier turbo (leather) headrests and use these instead, so when i find a set i will purchase some.

Have only just got back from picking them up, but for £100 i can't really go wrong, and its rare to find a set in such good condition. Other bonus is the guy who i bought them off wants my Cesaro seats too, so that means i can claw some money back for them :) He also threw in an Astra GTE steering wheel, which i'll probably sell because i prefer the Calibra 4-spoke one i already have :)

Fitting the seats is a relatively simple job, front seats you have to take the subframes off and just fit the seats themselves to the Astra subframes (4 bolts per seat) and the rear base of the bench goes straight in. The Backs are a little more fiddly, you can either bodge them in, or you can take the foam and leather off and pop them on to the original Astra metal backs, they fit perfect so thats what i'll do i imagine :)

Pics when they are done, i'll be starting at 10am tomorrow :)

/edit - The white bits on the right seat are sawdust :)

Such a waste on a mk3 astra :(

Please don't turn it into one of these threads again. I won't be putting up threads any time soon about having a new car, so if you don't like it at least say something like "Not to my taste but if your happy".

Had a few bulbs blown on the dash so i replaced them with LED's, going to be taking these out and replacing them with white ones as i don't like the blue. Not bad for a tenner though :)

Are they the standard doorcards?

Yeah. they are the standard ones, with the tops undone and re-covered in the blue material (same stuff that comes from Cobra on their seats).

Fair enough. I think that the leather will help tone it down a little, will look ok then. :)

its not actually as "in your face" as it looks, just the flash on the camera makes it look brighter than it is, its actually closer to the blue on the Forums background.

Wow the calibra leather is in great condition, most are awful with knackered bolsters! Make sure you post pics when its in!

Seats are in, rear ones are very comfy indeed! Couple of niggles on the way, but they are in now :)

Basically took the Calibra foam and leather and put them on the Astra metal backs so the fixings were the same, then it was a bit of a squeeze but we got them in.

Fronts were very easy indeed, convince they were already on Astra subframes, but the seatbelt buckles were snapped and there were no pre-tensioners, so we put them on the Subframes i had in the car. Very easy job and all we needed was a 13mm socket and an allen key :)

Probably took us about 2hrs total :)

Pics in a min as its pouring down at the moment :)
