Hello.

Ok if I have a Sigma 10-20mm. Would I beable to combain a CPL filter with a 10 stop ND, or would this cause severe vignetting as effectively it would let in about 12 stops less light, right?

Would I be better getting a CPL and say a 6 stop ND?

Do people here combine the two or do you just use one or the other?

stacking filters increases vignetting yes,

but i wouldnt even attempt your suggestion i would get 10ND and a cpl totally different uses not meant for combinations as you turn the cpl for your results with a 10nd or even a 6nd i doubt youd see clearly enough to get uses from the cpl itll basically be cancelled by using the ND.

some lens cause vignetting from factory wide open so adding a filter will ony increse this hence hoya pro 1 (as e xample) being so slim to help stop this.

Very good point, I hadn't thought I wouldn't actually be able to see the effect of the CPL through the ND :p

I also didn't know that about Hoya Pro 1 filters being thinner.

Thanks dude. I am getting a Sigma 10-20mm and a 10 stop ND, I think I'll probably get a decent CPL for it to reduce vignetting wide open as you say.
