Just purchased these parts for a new build..

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel (CMX6GX3M3A1600C9)
AMD Athlon II X3 Tri Core 445 3.10GHz (Socket AM3)
Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H 760G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

I am out of touch with hardware and thought my current PSU would be good enough, Turns out it should work but i dont fancy the risk and so i am going to have to buy a new one.

Evil-I suggested this Corsair (thanks mate)

However i plan on dumping a Phenom II X6 in this system (and another 4GB) at a later date,

I was wondering will the Corsair 430W be powerful enough for the X6 Phenom? Or should i get the 500W or even 600W version?

Sorry for the noob style question :)

*EDIT*
system will have 2 internal SATA`s, DVD Drive, WD External and a PCI Hauppage HVR 1100 TV Card (and my GT240 gfx card obviously)

NO case fans etc (just have my tower with the sides off lol)

What's the rest of your spec?
Gfx card case etc.
Would modular be easier for cable management ?
Prob safer to go higher at least you will have some power in reserve for future upgrades

@ Purgatory
I am using an Nvidia GT240 (the 1gb DDR5 version) this requires no extra power connection, it gets all it`s power from the PCIXpress slot)
I dont game and have no plans on upgrading it, i bought it because you can unlock the CUDA in CS5 :D

@ Seraph
Thanks for the suggestion, will 500W be enough juice for what i have now and when i get a Phenom X6 in 6 months time?

If you don't plan on adding a different graphics card to that pc grab what Seraph said it's better then the Corsair Builder Series CX 430W .

That again only has 1 PCI-E power cable....;)

indeed but given the OP currently has only a GT240, he wont be needing SLI anytime soon and the supply has sufficient molex connectors should he need more in the graphics power department ;)

More than enough for a Hex core with those specs :)
