Another security alert

God dammit, jokes like that aren't funny. He just wasted everyone on that flight a few hours, perhaps days of their time and should have no other punishment than to have a few days of his time wasted.

Agreed would have been far better if the note said BOOM!!!. :D

Keep the scares up, I'm planning on a holiday in 2 weeks. Haven't booked yet. Its going to push the prices for last minute deals down and down :)

flying Excel on Sunday to spain... my gf is nervous enough already about flying i don't think i will show her this!

A couple of thiings come to mind.

1. If it was a joke from a previous passenger, why was the plane not cleaned correctly and all rubbish removed so this would have been found on the ground in London?

2. Where has the conclusion that it's a joke come from? It would be a very successful piece of terrorism if it was not placed by a joker. A terror group, with no outlay, no expense and low risk has successfully cost security services more time and money and cranked travellers fears up another notch. An act of terrorism doesn't actually have to hurt or kill people to be a success, the creation of fear and discord and disinformation is a victory in it's own right.

Firstly, cleaners aren't always very thorough, I've found various rubbish in the seat back pocket when I fly.
Secondly, there was no conclusion. It was mere speculation.

If you where on a plane and a note was found like the one here, it was handed in to a member of the crew but the person who found it had said nothing about it to anyone else. Would you want to know?

Would you rather the pilot did as he did in this case and told everyone there was a bomb on board or would you just rather be told you where diverting to another airport due to technical problems/bad weather at your destination airport?

Now with all the security checks and more importantly the scares. I wouldn't mind iether. I would just think it was another over cautious cabin crew albeit just doing there job.

my dad flew back from phoenix arizona to london heathrow on the day of the foiled bomb plot... the plane was only 30% full.. the rest of the passengers (who i presume were americans) decided they didnt particularly want to go to london... which is understandable !

he managed to find 4 empty seats, raised all the arm rests and had a kip over all 4 of them.

i wonder how full the plane will be when i fly home :)

soon this may turn into something like the boy who cried wolf, and we all know what happened to him

If you meet an air stewardess called Lucy say hi from me (she's a mate) - though she's stuck in Bahrain at the moment :(
