Very tragic. What could possibly motivate anyone to do anything like this especially at a place of worship! Thankfully more people weren't killed as Sunday mornings are when religous sermons are usually held. Reports it was a "white male" and the FBI treating it as a "domestic terrorist incident."

I can't see the motivation for these attacks other than mistaking Sikh's for Muslims. In the US they stereotype Muslims as wearing turbans when few Muslims do that's why they call them towel heads.

yea, and this nutter will not have any difficulty obtaining a firearm by other means? He set out to kill them, with prejudice and planning, he would have got a firearm eventually.
Unless this shooter has something personal against a particular person in the temple why would he attack a Sikh temple.
Otherwise I can only think he has confused them with people from another religion. Most likely Muslims.

and they will make new laws saying that its because there isnt enough guns and they should be mandatory. im waiting until they decide pets need firearms too.

Well for one they're obviously totally unhinged however it's gotta be more than that. I believe the extensive news coverage surrounding these type of events really doesn't help the situation. They essentially turn into strange role models for others who wish to emulate them. News like this should be purposely localised and made as non-sensational as possible.

Such a terrible tragedy, no reason for this madness has come to light yet which makes it all the worse. Tighter gun control is definitely required in the States.

It is from a forum for a Baptist Church. I cannot believe the hatred spouted in this thread, it is so vile and truly shows the ignorance and pure hate of some people in this world.
If what was written in that post was made by Islamic extremists I'm sure it wouldn't have been long before police involvement of some form. Despicable
